Sol Gel Ceramic Coatings

At Porcelain Industries, we provide sol-gel ceramic coatings for a variety of applications and are the sole North American applicator of Thermolon, a patented, inorganic mineral polymer based on ceramic materials.

Thermolon is an environmentally-friendly liquid mineral coating material with qualities equal to traditional non-stick surfaces. The key difference: Thermolon is 100% PTFE-free and results in no emissions of toxic gas when heated. Using less energy in its application, Thermolon emits up to 60% less CO2 emissions than traditional non-stick coatings.

Due to the low-temperature required in the Thermolon sol-gel process, coating is not restricted by the temperature limitations of metal, resulting in a strong, durable product.

Thermolon sol-gel coatings high performance characteristics include:

    • Non-stick and resistant to staining
    • Resistance to scratch and abrasion
    • Resistance to corrosion and fouling
    • High temperature resistance
    • Zero-PTFE and no PFOA
    • High heat transfer coefficient / resistant to high heat and impact
