Thermolon are next-generation sol-gel coatings that can be applied to a wide range of substrates to produce enhanced chemical and mechanical properties that can benefit multiple industries. Unlike PFOA coatings, which are expected to be phased out by 2015 due to environmental concerns, Thermolon non-stick coatings produce zero emissions or toxic fumes when overheated.

Traditional PTFE and other fluoropolymers coatings require multiple layers to successfully apply. Sol-Gel simplifies the application process by requiring a single stage spraying process, regardless of substrate type. As a single layer coating type, Thermolon can be cured up to 50% faster than PTFE and at significantly reduced curing temperatures.

Thermolon's lower curing temperatures reduce the risk of impairing the metal substrate's surface during the firing process, as well as lower the overall manufacturing carbon footprint.
